Remember the roads are an incredibly dangerous place, and when your are cycling along them you can be vulnerable.
If you take all the following cycling road safety tips in to consideration, then you should be well on your way to a safer cycling career!
Wear a Helmet
It amazes me the amount of people that cycle on busy roads without wearing a helmet. Your head is perhaps the most vulnerable part of your body when you are cycling so keeping it protected should be the first thing you think about.Wear Bright Clothes
I admit, I hate the hi-vis jackets that cyclists wear, but there are simple alternatives that mean you can still look stylish. Cycling jerseys are nearly always bright in color, so get hold of one of those and then you won't have to wear a hi-vis jacket.Avoid Dark Roads
If you can help it, avoid any dark and unlit roads in the evening. Even if you are wearing bright colored clothes and lights motorists will find it more difficult to spot you. Try and make the majority of your journey in the light if you can.Use Bright Lights
There are thousands of bike lights available across the web, so there is no excuse for having no lighting when you are cycling.Check yours and make sure they are bright enough. If not then you may need to get hold of some new ones.
